Thanks @Mapantz not sure if I prefer it warmer or colder at the moment! My feet are like blocks of ice though!!

Just dipped into the MAD thread, I’m feeling a personal wobble coming on.. sigh... it’s all still 10-14 days ahead that the excitement begins isn’t it? When that timeframe reduces, I’ll start to relax.

Spot on Khodds,

Bunch of loons in there, inc the odd mod too... They don`t seem to get it about chopping changing of charts as everything is so far away.

Yet another day of cold rain! How many is that this winter! So exciting (sarcasm) to have had 2 days in a row with sleet mixed in during the heaviest bursts!!

Including four successive Saturdays... Just hope this means dry Saturdays for the cricket season...

Great post Steve,

I often wondered that myself too.

A definite warming has taken place over the years weather its natural global warming or man made but warming has happened. This has had a huge affect on our winters imho and by the amount you mentioned in your post.

I'm not as sure - I've loved snow all my life and I remember many, many winters from the end of the 80's on that failed to deliver (mainly thinking south, specifically Wiltshire). It's very tempting to link warmed temperatures to making now more marginal, but the rise is dwarfed by the variation within a day. I also tend to think our memories deceive us.

It stopped raining, so I went and collected the rubbish bins, and then it started  tipping it down again. :O

16.8mm so far..

You could be right there Tim.

Not around much today illness has fallen in the house apart from me, so I'm doing all the running :). Suffice to say had a sharp frost for my locale early last night then the mild air arrived. Relentless rain and mist all day!!!

Models still undecided on when this colder air will arrive. Looks like a west based NAO on the latest GFS watch half the mad thread fall on their swords!!!

Hopefully will sink a gin later once the sickies are all tucked up in bed!

Think I’ll leave that lot to it in the mad thread until the ecm churns out. GFS and UKMO differences at +96 are stark! So it’s futile.

Too much gin in the people's republic of Peckham last few days. Returned home to frosty hollows and it's colder, wetter and windier than that there LDN. Overnight low of - 6.3C .Seems to be a repeating weather pattern day after day of overnight frosts, bright starts, clouding over and rain bands by day.Not rushing out to buy gin. When it's still grey next week I suspect we'll be needing copious amounts

The old man asked me yesterday “what’s the weather doing” so instantly with my guard up, just swerved the question and said yeah it’s set fair..... didn’t want to jinx any potential cold

little did I know he had plans today at his house

I guess my flippant comment was aimed at Loon City, there have been so many dates for Polar Bears Dancing on Ice show that you could play ruddy bingo with it,late march now has a mention, eyes down and look in.

Rant in regional.

I'm sick to death of chasing.

People now posting charts for 1 March.

On 5 February, charts in the MAD thread showed stupid charts for today in our region for snow. Absolute bulls%%t.

I get sucked in but now realise 22 23 Feb is 'the days'.

Moon on a stick.

I think people become fixated with seeing cold runs followed by a cold set of ensembles out in FI, when in reality this is unlikely to verify.

It's very hard to believe we would see the kind of weather most in there want to see, instead a watered down version is likely, with the usual places seeing cold & not the countrywide Armageddon scenario we all hope for.

For me, snow Armageddon aside, something drier & warmer is my preferred choice as we move forward in to Spring.
