have a feeling we will keep this all night, loads of little flakes, can mount up though in areas not exposed to the wind

Amber warning is only 19 miles away!  A bit of creeping and we'll be there...

Bewdley is now in the amber warning zone, and I think quite rightly. Although the snow is still that fine stuff, it's quite a bit heavier and still coming down quite hard. The garden now has a complete covering. There are still bare patches on the road where the wind has scoured it clean, but I'd guess the average depth is 2 cm or so. Hard to tell given the uneven depth and microdrifting!

Exactly it wont mount to anything for those in the extreme light blue. Hinckley itself has been in a slightly heavier bit strangely that has stayed over head for 2 hours. even so that may have added max of 1cm lol. we really need some darker blues at least so the area sees a complete covering throughout.

Yes not all,  the amber warnings are for the West Midlands...loving this forecast for this evening/tonight.

Some heavier precipitation is slowly heading towards the midlands so i’d expect it to be here around 8pm. Links in well with the met office forecast so the heaviest of the snow should be yet to come. ❄️❄️❄️

We've been right on the edge of all the yellow/amber warnings but we've done quite well. Expectations were low though. I have a feeling this next band will swing west before it really reaches us. Fingers crossed for you all.

I think this must surely be unprecedented.

We have a Yellow Warning for snow this evening from the east/north-east.

We have a Yellow Warning for snow this evening from the south-west.

It seems we may get snow this evening but nobody knows if we'll be getting convective snow from the Beasterly, or frontal snow from Storm Emma...!

Does anyone know of this happening before for snow from two almost-opposite directions?

EC is not bad! but time of year may be a disadvantage, if it was Dec or Jan we'd be looking at freezing fog, ice days and frontal snow!

but unsure in March, slack lows, temps can reach 4°

Northants just gone in to amber warning. Thought we was to far east

Not surprised, I'm further south than you, the roads (A428) are in a state, drifting from the fields making it one lane road in places.

We're almost in two yellow warnings, one for just snow and the other for snow and wind.

Heavier stuff seems to be dieing out quite far south from here, so looks like we'll be stuck with this intensity for a few hours though. I'm quite happy still though, it's like being in siberia with howling winds and drifting snow, even if it is super fine :)

The mids forecast is a disgrace, even the national forecast updated there graphics to include the larger amber warning and the fact it snowed until early hours, that was inexcusable I'm sorry what a joke donemy head in big time

Good Midlands Today forecast, though doesn’t look like the snow radar has been updated to reflect the more Easterly track! Didn’t have the updated amber warning also, so think it was all a bit out of date.

More snow apparently tomorrow evening/night, 5-10cms widespread apparently.

More snow Sunday night, potential stalling front.

Predictions all Shefalis so don’t blame me if they’re wrong!
