Yes, it was a great afternoon with some great intensity, especially the last one.  I was commiserating with VMistry, regarding the Leicester snow shield, we know those shields only too well living in Stafford.

Here was my video from earlier, missed the worst of it but this gave a good idea of the intensity of the wind for a while:

If we get some heavy showers like earlier then it's definitely a possibility.  World Book Day tomorrow too...

It seems like everyone in the midlands has at least a respectable covering apart from us snowless Leicester folk. How much has everyone had?

Whatever the models show, the MetO not-a-forecast has just upped the stakes for Evesham tomorrow with an 80% chance of heavy snow (from 60% chance of light snow) .....

We have about 10 cm in bolsover chesterfield and plenty more to come looking at the radar! Lot more here than at work in Rotherham.

Barely anything in Walsall. Even less in Central Birmingham. This coming snow shower has decided to turn easterly from a north easterly direction so it will miss Walsall/Birmingham

What a day!

Spent the day out and about with the snow showers, which brought temporary blizzards and white out conditions. The heaviest were between 11am and 12noon around Woodall services and then driving through Sutton in Ashfield near Mansfield at around 4pm (at a guess). I was stuck at Woodall until around 2pm due to the M1 being at a standstill. There were plenty more snow showers but these two were full on blizzards with very low visibility and strong winds. Temperatures were also very cold with my car thermometer never going above -2c. Most of the time the temperature was between -3c and -4c. During the blizzard near to Sutton in Ashfield the temperature got down to -6c. No idea what the wind-chill would have been, but it was bitter!

No respectable covering here either. Just dusting here and there.

The Ecm has just done something interesting at t72 by pushing energy east possibly prolonging the cold and snow chances

What does it show in regards to the low tmoz??

I always find it a bit difficult with the ecm time frames but I think our area won't See any major snow fall tomorrow. As In Coventry and Nuneaton.

Interesting comments today about snow melting rapidly and also diverting around large urban area's.

Modern living ,concrete tarmac lack of green space and my pet hate ripping up gardens to park more bloody motors, increase the heat absorbed from the sun by a large amount
