That’s what they said in January 2013 especially after the “that ecm” and look what happened after that. It’s like saying oh dear Burnley have never finished in the top half of the Premier League and every time it looks like they will they don’t so what’s the point of being a Burnley fan; you don’t say that though and they probably will this year.

Interesting comparison and i’d happily swap seeing no more snow in 2018 for us to finish the season no lower than we are.

i think a few on here wouldn’t be happy though. :D

Yeah watching MOTD, Sam wasn’t happy with his players.

Are these the first tentative signs of the pattern truly backing West mid-month?

Updated, upgraded and with another warning just out west of us of a further 0.5-5cm Tuesday day into Wednesday morning.

Worst case scenario: Snizzle from a dead-on-it's-feet cold front on Tuesday, cold rain/wet sleet Thurs due to bothersome mild sector... milder weather back in next weekend.

Best case scenario: a few fluffy cm's of pure cotton-wool like snow on Tuesday that settles on ground most of the week due to very low surface temperature.  Top up of golden fluffy white goodness on Thursday... and a reload of cold next weekend.

That second one is telling too as it just states snow showers so no marginality whatsoever.

Not much in the way of proper cold or lying snow around these parts though the fells around have covering. Had a slight frost early this morning but the clouds built in bringing some patchy drizzle. Current temps aren’t all that cold either, currently showing 4c. I

i think next weeks snow events will end up a big disappointment for many with a decaying front both Tuesday and Thursday proabably fizzling our as it crosses the region.

All marginality has gone as you might expect given the trends. I think the same might happen to Thursday as well.

Edit: they do say away from coasts twice but I think that’s crap.

ICON's take on Thursday 'it's good but it's not right' because of that stupid hole by the Wirral :nonono:

Really hope so. The Metoffice forecast doesn’t make for good viewing for Thursday and Friday. I’m down for 5-6c and rain most of the day Thursday.

Those computer generated forecasts are about as useful as a chocolate teapot inside a chocolate fireplace behind a chocolate fire-guard! Best to concentrate on the 925 mbar temperatures, freezing level and dew points.
