I think the problem was that the trough broke up with one chunk affecting the northeast and another one Wales and the west midlands. Sunday should be more straight forward with showers.

I actually find that it usually overdoes the wintry element. Having said that, the 12z gfs agrees.

Possible Sunshine, Cloud, Rain, Hail, Sleet, Snow, Wind, Cold, Ice, Frost, Fog, Mist, Tornados, Heat, Cold, Blizzards, Hurricanes, Water Spouts, Monsoons, Thunder, Lightning, Cyclones, Typhoons, Dust Devils, Drizzle, Graupel, Ice pellets & Snow Grains.

All in all a mixed bag.

Expect a Met Office Warning for drizzle.

I don't think I've got that promised 2-5 cm of snow the warnings have hinted at all winter... and my height above sea level 150m+ has fitted their criteria.  One or two occasions their has been a cm or so of slush that's melted pretty rapidly.  At least we avoided that messy stuff today, and it's been breezy but dry after this morning's rain scarpered away.
