thats tonight’s snow

Hopefully it should start intensifying slightly as it moves South. Let's see how it is going in the next 30-45 mins before we start worrying or ramping too much. Hopefully some of us see a covering, but this will in no way be snowmageddon!

Just keep an eye on the radar and we could be lucky.

(EDIT: It does seem to be intensifying slightly in the West Midlands as it moves South... a good sign maybe?)

With any luck, the incoming front will nudge it all a wee bit to the east...? Mustn't be greedy, though!:yahoo:

I guess your using net weather radar. It does show a lot of precipitation but it's that light half of it isn't reaching the ground this was shown today with people saying they had nothink when on radar it said they did.

We're talking about the massive band of snow associated with the weather front that's moving Southwards, not the random showers that are developing ahead of the front.

I don’t think Steve is denying that there is ppn in the North Sea.

He said the ppn over the Midlands is weakening which he is correct.

Dont quite understand what all the fuss is about.

Norfolk, Suffolk into east Kent maybe in with a Dusting though.

my trusty lamp post is saying 'yes' to flurry of snow still, but the radar says no.

I found this. *rolls up sleeves* But in all fairness to see 3 snow flurries today and not a bean on any forecast/chart is pretty good going. Well done me.

Precisely nothing’s changed on that ‘front’ compared 30 minute intervals no change. And it may pep up!

The band over the Midlands was never the snow that was going to reach us, it was always expected to pep up as the front interacted with the North Sea and moved South into East Anglia

I know that for example in the picture that snow is probably not touching the ground. I am willing to be proven wrong and hope be  to wrong but it's what I see

Hopefully it will pep up over land. But it’s currently over the sea, no good to anybody right now.

Lol I just spotted you were two different Daniels, thought it was one person arguing with themselves oops. For what it's worth it still depends on if the front rises above as was shown in the fax chart, plenty of time for change. If that happens more snow will fall, if not it will just die.

We’re not talking about the periphery light stuff the blobs which are largely offshore!

The ppn is definitely building in the West Midlands, which tallies with the front as it moves South. It is just a question of how much it will build in the East, but looking good still in my opinion considering this was meant to be a non-event!

As they come inland I suspect they will weaken. Anyway we will have to wait and see.

Yep that’s a slight strengthening if anything. Yellows/oranges in there.

Let's do that. Even BBC London news are saying that we could all be seing some snow tonight, so even they are expecting things to pep up.

It's what happens when the 'blob' gets past The Wash, then we will see if it decays or not.

Been snowing all evening in Peterborough, albeit quite light and barely dusting the surface.

Still, good to see it coming down!

Agree, think as any ppn comes inland will weaken significantly.

Recon Norfolk could be in with a shout though.
