South West and Central Southern England Regional Weather Discussion 09/12/2017 onwards

A colder weekend, 0c to 6c, but dry throughout. That North Westerly at times 2-14mph keeping up the windchill.

At midnight was 3.7c and its now 9.6c, 1027.3 hPa, NNW very light winds.

One of my fascinations within this thread is how variable temperatures are in our region.

In complete contrast to the above, after being 10.4c at 22.00 last night, it is a frosty/icy morning here with the temperature still dropping, 0.7c at the moment.

Cracking morning, clear sky, temp 8C and a light breeze from the NNE.

off to Longleat safari and Festival of Lights tomorrow with the wife and kids, weather looks good for it! Ho ho ho

Morning all, after a thoroughly miserable day yesterday of non stop drizzle, I've woken up to clear sky, a beautiful sunrise and frost.

went to bed the temp was 10.1c, woke this morning to frost and ice temp of 0.8c

made for an interesting drive to work at 5:30am

Have a great time, it's fantastic, but don't expect sunshine as it's likely to be freezing fog in the morning which will likely lift into misty low cloud. Longleat is also a colder area compared to Warminster which is only a few miles away, if you see Warminster predicted as 8c max expect Longleat to be several degrees lower.

yes we went last year, it was so good that we’ve booked again! 

Warminster predicted 7c tomorrow, so will take my snow suit

Much better day today. Just typical that it's Monday. Min of 0.5C at 8am.

It was nice out earlier by the river. Saw the Kingfisher too, but he's too quick for me.

Sunny and cool all day although not quite cold enough for a frost last night. 

Looks like that’s the last crisp sunny day for a while, cloudy and mild from tomorrow.

Can’t believe the temperature variation between town and country; I’ve driven from Wells to Street and seen temperatures fluctuate from +4c to -1c. It’s certainly been a cool period of late! Shame Ian couldn’t have been a bit more Christmassy earlier

Yup frosty here -2.0c but no fog! Off to Warminster, hopefully I nice clear fog free journey

To qualify my earlier post now that it is light there is a fair bit of Ci around as well as the contrails. Probably around 30,000 ft
