Well fortunately the tables had turned with snow falling by around 5:30am and it took until around 6:30am to neutralise the dampness of surfaces to start accumulating. Still going and forecast to continue for much of the day although not likely to be as heavy as the first three hours. :D

Wow, it really was a winter wonderland upon waking. Brilliant!

1.0C. Roughly 1.5- to 2 inches at the moment.

Suddenly we've got sleet in Middle Wallop

17.3 miles NE of here according to Google Maps.

I sense a disturbance in the farce.

Hmm, I've been staring at screens too much lately...

You could put them on tiny pic or the like, then post us a link.

Believe it or not, I am seeing a temperature reversal beginning in the atmosphere above Poole..

Settling or not we haven't had frontal snowfall like now in nearly 5 years! The pointless gone by 9am dustings of the last 4 winters have all come via showery NW set ups like Friday was or flurries from brief Easterlies.

Interesting process appears to be occurring whereby the lying snow that's south of where the models had it causes lower DPs and air temps downwind than predicted, which turns precipitation to sleet and then snow earlier than expected there, which (in time) puts down at least patchy snow accumulations there, which lowers DPs and air temps downwind from there... and so on.

That's my attempt to explain the current model versus reality discrepancies, and may also account for the snow line being misplaced on the NetWeather radar, depending on whether that's based on model parameters or observations...?
