Lights just flickered.

Trees are becoming laden with sticky snow. Snow lumps falling on cars in wind gusts. Air temp is 0.01C. Ground temp still a lot higher I'd imagine.

Temperature dropping quickly on outdoor thermo now, down to 3.6 [edit: 3.3 now 3 mins later]. Watching the orange traffic line along the M40 on Google traffic map gradually spreading southwards towards me. (Abingdon, Oxford)

A solid cm or 2 already in the past 30-45 minutes.....traces of the monsoon from earlier tonight already being obliterated by laying snow, with roads turning white

3:05am and it's just turned from heavy rain to wet snow here near Abingdon, Oxford. Literally 5mins after the time the BBC evening weather forecast said it would. Temp 2.8. EDIT: temp 2.3C 10mins later.

Wind picking up. We've a good inch or so covering on roads and paths with about 4 inches on cars, fences. Trees and bushes holding an inch or so and I've just noticed some telegraph wires looking white and a little saggy..

so weird because the other day it snowed for a day and a half and would not lay at all after the rain yet now it’s laying on top of all the rain earlier and yesterday’s rain??????

Lamppost report: Something white in the mix, but everything far too wet for anything to stick unless it upped the rate to intensive. Time to switch the lamppost off.wind has increased quite notably...

Disappointing in Kilmersdon to say the least at 300ft asl. A patchy cover from earlier but at 1.7C nothing much has stuck and the strong wind is aiding rapid thawing. Elevation is everything this morning. If your above 300ft up then a winter wonderland is the greeting this morning but to be honest here the wind is more of a feature gusting 40 mph.

well, believe it or not I'm slightly disappointed....went to bed 3 hours ago and it was snowing heavy with an inch or two off acc snow....it's still snowing but there's been a rapid thaw, almost acc snow has disappeared

Same here, it was heavy snow and all we have to show for it is some slush on my car
