Had a few heavy hail showers overnight that woke me up. Feeling chilly out there this morning.

Laughable really I'm out of the warning zone by 9 miles. Live in Kingswood Bristol but Yate 9 miles away is in the zone.

I would take it with a large pinch of salt, the weather will do what it wants, in these situations it’s a case of looking out the window

Weather on BBC news24 just now forecasting heavy rain for our neck of woods. Snow threat more mid-Wales and into Midlands and down to SE Midlands i'm afraid

After a very wet day yesterday 22.9mm, expecting another very wet night and early morning tomorrow,

Currently already over 100mm for the month, could easily be up around 150-200 before the end of the month.

Good luck for anyone likely to see snow later.

looking forward to tonight......real knife edge stuff here along the corridor of the motorway that must not be named......heavy rain to start clearing to the north with the prospect of potentially heavy snow as the wrap-around clears back SE through central/southern England (or it could be sleet, ot even cold rain!)...just wondering if it'll be some same as a few weeks ago when that little height advantage locally made such a difference here?

A fun weather day, yesterday. 12mm of rain fell, 7mm of that fell within the hour. 10 min average wind speed of 24mph, and gusts of 45mph.

4.5 °C this morning. Showery now, and 7.9 °C

Nothing of interest for me during the early hours, just light rain.

After seeing Ian F update and warning area I'm feeling less optimistic. :nonono:

It seems my sensor is reading incorrectly, so yesterday's 14.5c max is probably wrong. It was reading 10.8c at 08.00 which was definitely wrong!

Anyway, how lovely to have sunshine for the first time since last Tuesday! Already turning overcast though.

We've managed two hours of sunshine today, but it's cloudy again now ahead of the next shower. Seems we're now getting all the autumn rains late.

Not sure how I feel about tonight. Uppers look much better than the last event, and there's no danger of milder southeasterlies getting in, but we've no embedded cold and the wet bulb looks borderline. Another nowcast situation it would seem.

Yes it was only 2C here at 08.00 this morning.

Supposed to be turning to snow here at about 02.00 Wednesday and then snowing for about 4 hours. High ground should see it settle I would think, such as Salisbury Plains.

Traditional Boxing Day walk on the beach, today with ominous clouds and rain shafts over the Purbecks..

Looks a lovely walk, just got in from ours and it's dank, cold and raining lightly, not at all pleasant!

After a beautiful morning and lunchtime from early afternoon it has been bucketing down with rain and it now sounds like hail mixed in with the rain and feeling very chilly.

However I saw crocus shoots poking through and hyacinth bulbs poking through too.

The rest of the garden is looking well , very sorry for itself as it often does this time of year.  But again all of last years dead trimmings are rotting down to go into the compost bin .

I do hope that the weather tonight won't be as miserable as some of you fear . .
