Brilliant day of weather. Has saved what's been a very boring year of weather. I may even forgive the pathetic thunderstorms of the summer.

Just concerned about driving to work at 4am tomorrow morning, at least there won't be many people on the roads, and it's mostly downhill to Wednesbury from here.

Well I had written today off, however it has been snowing for two hours now and whilst the flakes are small it is adding to the cover. Radar looks much better for the north now!

Just been out to clear the car and put my windscreen cover on before the big freeze overnight. It was coming down steady and sticking to the car as fast as I could clear it.

We're not even going to try to clear the car...! It's a good thing neither of us has to get anywhere tomorrow either!

Eleven inches/ 27cm and still coming down... this is what people have been trying to drive out of uphill by gunning it til they burn the clutch out, idiots...

After all that, my boss just texted me to say don't come in, work from home :)

Weather apps are suggesting more snow for me after dark. I've no idea if that is right, or where it's meant to be coming from.

Intelligent boss! If everyone who could stay home did do, or arranged to start an hour or two later, it would help enormously... I honestly have not seen one person driving as for snow, Friday or Saturday or today - they all seem to have zero idea of how to move off slowly in second...

Snowing steadily, but not heavy enough to overcome the wet patches. Adding to slight cover on grass, but barely keeping pace with the melt.

Latest recording from my back garden in Shrewsbury Town centre. 20cm. On a wall. No drifting. It’s not as moderate showers as it has been but cold enough to start covering roads that got cleared this am.

It’s gone very light here, but MetO has us back down for 3 more hours of heavy snow later... ?

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics
