Oh hello fellow Buntinfordonian! Yes, the A10 just south of buntingford near the Westmill turn off gets massive snow drifts as snow blows off neighbouring fields. The worst I saw since living here (almost 25 years) is March 2013 - police had to close a lane.

There was a photo I found between Buntingford and Cottered in the 1963 winter (I think), where the snowdrifts were as high as the telephone posts (15 feet plus).

Looks awesome. I would think a few areas south and east of that amber area could get into some of the action too. Definitely some now casting moments ahead.

Isn’t this the same warning as yesterday..last updated yesterday morning?

Wonder why this hasn’t been updated since 11am yesterday...unless I’m looking at an old page

To think that the max for Rochester was showing as 7C only yesterday, now 4C and that's just for two hours 7-8am, thereafter 1 - 2C all day with mainly sleet & snow. Trying not to get too excited but :yahoo:  can't wait to start lamp-post watching, and hope I haven't jinxed it now lol!

They extend the yellow snow warning south a wee bit. It didn't overlap before.

Just got home from a Christmas meal and the frost I scraped off the car at 11am Saturday morning is still on the ground and I can see the shed roof is white again.

It's -0.8c with a DP of -3c and clouding over from the west. Shame it's going to rain!

Well today has been fun but I need sleep. I hope to awake to a winter wonderland! Goodnight everyone.

My forecast's gone from rain Sunday and a touch of sleet Monday to ligh snow over several hours Sunday and nothing Monday. Proper nowcasting given the snow'a supposedly starting in an hour!

I'm sure Steve is keeping a very close eye. These sliders are so tricky to pin down but have been edging as expected South as we get closer to t0. Now casting time.. Get those lampposts in view..
