This is the problem when we only look at landfall.. there it doesn't make landfall in Florida but the strongest winds still affect Florida.

Wondering how big Irma is?

Well with that most of the IS terrorist threat in Europe has been nullified. Paris destroyed Belgium badly damaged and the Netherlands sunk.

And not forgetting the storm surge may well be a greater problem

...and "the best track" for it to maintain its strength because its still over warm ocean?

Slightly random but it would be interesting to see what amount of lightning this brings with it.

Make you think, eh? The Atlantic storm that sunk the Braer (1993?) had a central pressure of 916!:shok:

Which is impressive considering Irma is being fed by warmer water. The 1993 storm most certainly cold water.

There's a lot of fake footage doing the rounds, is this genuine? If it is, truly shocking stuff.

Edit. Fake as in from previous events!

Unfortunately internets full of fake news :nonono:

Yep, 'fraid so. Seen 'live' footage of the Wray tornado this evening being claimed as Hurricane Irma. Most pics / videos these days I often find myself questioning their authenticity - sad times.

It was (from what I could tell) always a bit behind the actual current time, but it regularly updated. Seems to have been stuck for a while now. (?)

I can definitely confirm this is SXM Saint Maarten/Pincess Juliana airport. The other-side of the terminal there's pics showing the terminal-roof and other debris spread across the runway.

Yep and possibly dead car as well by sound of it.

edit: They just said on the stream the main town/island is supposedly destroyed - what ever that means :/

Sounds like all the buildings went like the shed, although I hope not.

Amazing. Anyone know where I can find those videos? As in where the original versions are posted?
