Hi, 

as someone very much learning about weather related elements can I ask how the the rainfall radar records rain falling and what determines a reading.    Quite often what is noted online as being light rain in my postcode has very little bearing on the situation on the ground.   is this due to high humidity or rain simply not reaching the ground.    Would like to understand more and if a tutorial is available in this respect.   Right now (12:05) for example according the radar I have light rain but  it clearly is not with good visibility to the cotswold escarpment.  Am located between Cheltenham and Tewkesbury by way of a guide.
