Still hopeful we can import something from N France this evening. So warm here, lots of convective activity in the clouds but no rain or storms yet!

Fingers crossed, radar says we've got a 50:50 chance!

Constant rumbling started south of Wakefield in the last 2 mins. Coming from the Barnsley cell

Really nice convection here. (sorry about the wires in the second picture, they are to protect my pond from herons)

Lincs is suspiciously quiet. Things should go bang soon, seen asthis area seemed to be the main area of focus on the tv forecasts.

That's what confuses me as well, whether it'll be much later in the evening idk

Yes, I'm a long way from it but sounds quite active!

I suspect only in Lorries

For N England it appears that storm cells are moving SW to NE but that the storms are building from the north southwards. I am hoping this may bring storm development closer to home later.

A few showers around but for the majority it's dry and warm/hot

More cumulus here to your east-south-east.  It appears that the cells that emerged as a single shower earlier are weakening - maybe the atmosphere here is slightly more stable now?

Surprising how quickly the cloud tops have appeared above the Acas field in the last half hour or so.

:rofl::rofl:

Yup I think the storms are definitely staying across the other side of the channel. I think the new cell to the North of London is associated with that trough that was over Norwich earlier.

Looks to me that cloud coverage is definitely building to the W and N of London. Some much more robust looking clouds in amongst the more robust looking AcCas now.

Funnily enough, I'm right under the blob of rain on the radar and haven't had a drop! No Thunder that I could hear either!

Next radar blob to watch is the one south west of Huddersfield. Will this intensify in the same way as the one near Barnsley or die a death?

I still don't have high hopes though even with some nice dark bases around.

By my completely non weather expert feelings I feel things will go mental this evening.

Indeed yes, the Amiens storm is no longer a single celled organism...

Don't think there will be imports tonight, but definitely wouldn't rule out a homegrown cell later
