Yet another thing to add to the list of reasons why we are always let down when it comes to snow.

Ironically the slide is good for prolonging our cold spell, just not good for our snowfall.

Im a bit confused about tomorrow,  live in mottram near glossop so at the bottom of our region, does anyone have an idea whether or not we will get any snow in my location.  I know its only a guess, its just I considering taking the day off but may as well not bother if were out of the firing line

Wow, that says it all really!

At least the showers that are now coming our way should fall as snow on you.

Very weird localised dynamics in terms of snow cover in South Manchester this morning. Currently on the train from Mauldeth Road (where there was no snow whatsoever) but as soon as you reached Longsight/Levenshulme there was a bit more of a covering. Shows the very localised nature of showers I guess.

It's has puzzled me for years, the further north you go in Gtr Manchester regardless of elevation the snow appears, been times when the city centre has had a covering yet south mancs has had nothing at all.

Don’t know what people were expecting really from this north-westerly. As soon as those -10 850s started disappearing from the forecast I knew it was almost game over imby. Tomorrow is a different matter though.

I’m absolutely disgusted that I get put under an amber warning only 24hrs ago only for it to be removed 24hrs later.

Pised off

The thing is with warnings, when you are only just inside the boundary, there's always a risk of either not getting the full effect of whatever type of severe weather it is or worse still, the warning actually disappearing from your location, ive noticed this, never count your chickens until you are well within a fairly high level warning with only hours to go.

I honestly think the snow showers that hit us were too early. If we would have got them around about now things could have been very different..

DP''s in the Region must be on the up like the Temps.

75% snow cover gone

Going off the latest charts in the mod thread, looks like another shift south! Another letdown on the cards for the 100th time!

MWIS: Peak District forecast for tomorrow..

Snow, widely incessant, giving whiteout, particularly Peak District.

Peak District and north to Skipton: Incessant snow, whiteout or near whiteout; snow lying into valleys. Yorkshire Dales NP: Ranging from intermittent snow, not heavy, north of about Ingleborough area to constant, sometimes heavy snow progressively southwards. Near whiteout.

I am not upset frosty, I could see this happening already from yesterday when everything started adjusting southwards. I posted the precipitation charts to back up what I was saying. So no surprises here.

If you want to take their warnings as a gospel go ahead and do it.

They don't update warning every two minutes because that would lessen the impact. You do release we are still under a yellow warning right?

Im sick of hearing ' another shift south ' now..

Melting here now..basically unless rhe uppers are -10 from a north wester its going to be a slushy mess unless your 300m up a hill.

Looking like this streamer is not going to happen.just another let down ..one after the other it really is.

Isn't Ingleborough quite far north....?

MWIS is still going for the heavy snowfall in south Yorkshire and the Peak District, warnings will likely be upgraded and re-shifted again once the snow begins to make an effect.

The magic of reverse logic on a BBC weather app, downgrades intensity of shower activity only for real time nose pressed against a window watching to,confirm  moderate/heavy snow shower. ?
