I told people from work we'd wake up to a covering of snow. I'm sure bound to get a ribbing today.

Lots of rain in the night and continuing with the temperature at 2.7C. curiously the dewpoint is 0.8C which may account for the rain.. but it's close to being snow.

The wind has lightened though.

Even Halkyn in North Wales at 300m asl is getting rain and sleet. Doesn't bode well for today.

Snowing here, barely a cm but still coming down lightly so at least I've had something.

hopefully Sunday will find one way to actually occur as forecast rather than a million reasons to not.

I think a lot of us will have to pin our hopes on Sunday.

So far one of the biggest let downs going. The radar is vitually snow for all except the effin Wirral!

As they hit the Wirral radar says rain til south Wirral/Chester. Cannot believe it's snow in Crosby and rain here. Not much hope for today now. Why do I bother with looking at all these charts!

Heavy snowfall now.

Roads look wet/ slushy at the moment with a few patches of white.

Cars are full of it.

The only thing I can think mate, is the fact that it's early in the Winter and the Irish Sea Sst's are still having a bad effect for us.

But that would apply to Crosby and western Liverpool too. The fact the hills of Flintshire are snow free in a setup like this which usually sees much of the land across the river white hints at some much bigger issue
