Well it snowed for about 10 minutes, heavy but too wet to settle

hmmm now that is interesting, the latest radar shows a cyclonic development on the western side of the trough. Very interesting.

Polar low?

Might help  to bring the cold 850s in quicker.

it seems to be gaining some form and moving ESE...  we will see what it does in the next few hours. Interesting to note that the first lightning strike has occurred in the 'low', and now has what appears to be an 'eye' on the radar, which would tie in well with the Polar Low theory although as yet there is no rotation on the 'low'.

You are just north of the line that is affecting Manchester now. Quite wintry outside with hail and a few flakes in the breeze.

The feature is sustaining inland, which is strange because like Hurricanes, convective features don't do well over land, but it is being fed by the trough which is almost acting like a baroclinic life support system. It could be much ado about nothing though.

@captaincroc how are you mate? Also @Backtrack :D

Hey @CreweCold! How are you? Here we are again!! haha.

Tonight if goes to plan should be excellent for us and selfishly especially me. I live near Audley and the extra altitude helped last winter with the quick fall of snow we had last winter.  To put people's mind at ease, it only literally took a few heavy showers to create a covering last year.

If the track of Sunday's low stays on track it could be a memorable event, not even thinking about it as it could easily be too far north or south.
