Well I just spent 2 hours in my car trying to get out of Chichester to get home from work. Gave up booked a hotel.

Plus side, pint in my hand.

Don't let the SE contingency see that.

If that ppn map came to fruition id be quietly hopeful on mendip of an all snow event but time will see..

Best to get another sw correction or it will be very marginal at best for ne of our region.

I know one thing, if the current pattern we're in keeps repeating, and the models do seem to be hinting at it, if we don't see something from any low pressure systems it's gonna be so depressing seeing large parts of the country, perhaps seeing multiple falls of snow while I watch the rain falling outside my window, especially after the past 4 winters which have been rubbish.

Prozac on the ready I think :p

A27 closed. Problem with that is it’s the only way in and out of Chichester!!! Which is a nightmare at the best of times. If it was snow related I’d be happy! Who knows, maybe in a couple of weeks ?

Hang the clothes out the window for an airing, tonight's gusts will blow the cobwebs away by tomorrow, when you arrive in the office.

Hello all,

Long time, no speak, long time, no snow.

I'm quite hopeful. Those nearer the coast might struggle, granted but inland parts certainly deserve a dusting and I think it may just happen. :friends:

Bring it on!

GTLTW - this will continue to back south west, I am absolutely convinced! Even the ecm has taken a big step towards that today.

The far south west might struggle, this time .......

Haven't caught up with all the runs but I'll take your word for it. Could include a fair few of us for once?

Still time for change with the path of the lp on Sunday I guess, I'm still haunted by the infamous event which diverted and buried the channel islands instead, that happened with 12 hours or so to go before the lp arrived so you never know but it'll take a huge movement south and west for the majority of the south west to get involved I think.

Daughter asleep what did I miss? Stuck in Chichester, NK has worried his work mates no doubt khoods has drunk more baileys but any movement on that slider?

Something must be up as the back edge of the rain on Sunday is now forecast to turn to sleet and snow over the tops of the moors.

Chichester is my home town. I know the A27 can be a nightmare and diff to get out if there is prob. Mind you I know every back route having lived there over 40 years. As for snow it is exceptional to get anything decent there. Even when rest of coast is fairly covered . We used to call it the Thorney Window as it always included Thorney Island. Probably down to the South Downs sheltering but then I haven’t a clue. Enjoy that pint!

Hush, young man. :bomb::rofl:I'm thinking of all fellow snow-starved folk as well. And I'm deliberately not focussing on the potential further on, either. Fascinating Synoptics and feels akin to days of old (80s/90s winters?).

Well this is all getting a bit tasty isnt it! So much so that I have decided to unlurk. Have been reading the MOD with great interest and it would appear that the West Oxon Snow Defence System will shortly be deployed ? I hope it fails hard! Good luck everyone ?

Further on!! We couldn’t hope for better we really couldn’t (potential). When Tamara gets excited you best take stock imho.

RE: potential, Arsenal have had potential for years and we all know how that’s ends ?‍♂️
