I remember this! My baby's first snow event and we made her lay in it! She's 5 now and I don't think she has seen snow since! She is scratching for some. My 2 year old is yet to experience it!

7 Inches AKA Dec 2009/10?

I remember that! We had gone to blinking Germany for the snow and christmas markets. 1 inch there. 6 inches well on the way to the train station and waiting for the plane home. Plane delayed for 5/6 hours. Finally got on. Drove home from Heathrow. Got to the M3 and it started snowing. Got to further and further down and the deeper and deeper it got! It was mad LOLOL! 7 inches so couldn't get the car up our drive or drag the suitcases through the snow LOL! 7c indoors.Damn cold night that was! Ah brilliant! I want that again :-D

Ok i'll stop a'spammin' now!!

I spent best part of a grand for the boy to go the school skiing trip in Feb 2011. By the time he got on the coach he was thoroughly sick of cold and snow. I was so jealous as I've never been skiing ?

Comparing the latest NMM Hi-res (18z) with the actual situation for 10pm:

Analysis: NE-SW aligned organised band of precipitation is a little further south and there is a significant amount of shower activity over the Cheshire gap and Wales than was picked out by the model 4 hours previously.

Heading straight for Wimborne. However, Netweather's radar show it as rain.

Isn’t it just. It’s all about that radar and of course that lamppost for waiting for them grains of snow to fall.  ? Fingers crossed guys!

So with all that activity going on, what does the BBC Weather say for overnight - bone dry apart from 6am - rain. :wallbash:

That was amazing wasn’t it? I remember waking up in the middle of the night thinking that there was an odd light in the room.. looked out the window and the snow falling was amazing!! Not sure if it was the same episode you describe but it was certainly the same year. Now the kids are older I want to enjoy it with them!

some speculation (in nw regional thread) that a circulation feature may be forming west end of the trough.

does look like potential on the radar.

Wetbulb temperatures look to be too high for most down at lower levels. Even if that showery activity made it over here, I would expect it to be falling as rain.
