Showers currently to NW of me, moving from SW/NE.  Whether another line will emerge and come over us remains to be seen.

A hail shower just developed above me and the big shower looks to be getting bigger

Very intense rain passing over now, first proper shower of the year. Both had pea-sized hail in them.

What a mucky start to the working week.

Tomorrow looking warm and muggy, could turn very warm if the clouds break.

Wednesday still looking very wet indeed with 20-40mm rain forecast depending on the model.

A narrow area from Weston Super Mare SE towards Wincanton has had between 1 to 2 inches of rain today. If you look at the radar from around 03.30 - 10.30 then again from 16.00 until now there has been particularly heavy rain in that strip of the region, continually pulsing NW-SE. I can only think it is orographic enhancement as the fronts come up against the Mendip area.

I was just looking at that myself. I looked up some stations that matched the locations on the radar, but I cannot find any that have recorded over 10mm today. Even one I found that is in the middle of the orangey/red echo's, only recorded 6mm

yes, it's been raining steadily here for the past few hours, yet literally a few miles east has remained relatively dry since lunchtime

13.6mm of rain here today - much needed but not impressively wet given how many hours it was raining for.

16.5mm here in Weston-Super-Mare, took the dog out for a walk, and while lots of puddles around the ground seemed fairly dry still.
