Despite the models having wobblers, causing the usual angst in the MOD thread, its looking like winter outside. There's a covering of lying snow, not deep by any means but more than a dusting.

Not a flake to be seen here, sigh. I've had a few peaks into the model thread and frankly I haven't got a clue what they're on about. One of these days I'll have to try learning.

Thunder Snaw!!!! whiteout conditions...school run might be a bit difficult.

Check here first... https://online.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/Apps/schools-closures/

A quick estimate is 1-2cm depth here but just started again. I'm off work  today due to a sick son and glad of it as I've been travelling to Fraserburgh. Daughter has just phoned to say she hasn't even got out of the village yet and she left 30mins ago. Roads are treacherous with ice and something might have happened as lots of cars turning around.

really loud thunder and yet another whiteout. I really don't know what all the fuss is about in model thread all moaning about it not snowing...

Aye, there's no such thing as the wrong weather, just the wrong location.

Happy St. Andrews day fellow kilters.

Good to see it's delivering the snaw for some.

Clear, frosty and dry here, although windy and it seems to the SE there's a lot of shower activity.

It's cold, there's blue sky, not so much as an icy car, it's boring, it's a northerly!

Just been out with the kids and dog for some snow fun and the farmer from down the lane went past and said "just wait till it snows properly"  another whiteout as I type.

Just a wee fall over night, 2-3cms on top of the now rock solid old cover. Showery forecast for the rest of the day it seems. Working east of Inverness, wind-chill cuts through you to say the least

Got a shower an hour ago that gave us a temporary sprinkling, nice while it lasted.  Overnight min 0C, now at 1.5C. Just need a line of showers to hit just before dusk.  Then we're set up with a cold dusk till dawn. :diablo: Fat chance.

Sat here working in the kitchen this morning with a north-facing window, although not a brilliant view. I remember sat here many years ago with a proper snowy northerly for days on end, with the sun not able to keep up with the melt as more and more accumulated.  March, 10 to 15 years ago? That was fun. Didn't get much work done then either.

Nipped out to the pharmacy so took a picture from the end of the street looking towards Bennachie.

Measured the depth in the garden at 3-3.5cm.

Nice to see some members getting some snow! :) Sunny spells and dry here in St Andrews, 3c in a chilly northerly breeze.

Hee Haw in the way o' white stuff and the lowest temp yesterday was 0.8c. currently 3.9c and I expect we'll have a mild and wet weekend. Possibility of colder again by end of next week, albeit short lived?

March 2006 remember loading newly lifted neeps out of a pit and had to dig the snow off to reach the neeps. Stunningly  cold  wind here with the odd flurry and a snow shower coming in off the Firth just now. Currently 1.5c.

Errrr.....no it's not

You’re nothing if not honest, 101. :D

Perhaps I’m feeling generous because I saw plenty of snow during my road trip last weekend?

But that’s not it. I don’t get jealous when the inland/at altitude members see snow and I don’t, that’s only to be expected. I only get jealous when other coasties get some and I don’t. You know, the likes of HC.... :D

Beautiful frosty day in Ardnamurchan.  Mostly sunny with temp hovering between 1-4C and  a slight NW breeze. There were  a couple of brief hail showers.

The snow line is quite high, and I hope it remains there. :)
