Nature is doing its balancing act again.

However I did hear the water board saying its the wrong type of rain and its done nothing at all to help the drought.

They must have employed the old British Rail bosses. :D

Those 3 hourly totals are impressive enough Surrey, but just look at the Euro4 forecast for accumulation over the next 36 hours (to midday Friday)!! It's suggesting 31 mm for me! And is that a mighty 50 mm for parts of Kent!! :shok:

Edit: Meant to say midday Friday, not midnight.

Well it backs up the MO radar forecast for this night.

So more heavy rain looks odds on in the south east and EA tonight.

As the saying goes on here"shame its not in winter"...:cold:

Lovely start to the day here a bit fresher than the last couple of days the water but now full to the top after being empty for so long shame we never got no storms last night but we have the rest of the summer to look forward to.

Lovely rain yesterday, hours of it and recorded over 30mm here. Some sunny spells earlier here but now gloomy again, zzz. At least the wind isn't howling. More rain later, I very much doubt it'll be thundery but who knows.

A little more than 'the odd spot of rain' moving up from the south, so one assumes that rain won't hit my area?

*sigh* what's a girl gonna wear for the school run.

someone just shouted out quite loudly outside 'it's starting to rain'

Not raining quite so hard to warrant such a panic, but yes, i can confirm it is indeed raining and a bit more than the mets 'odd spot'

you go, girl

Looks like it's quite a lot further west than forecast at the moment. And ahead of time. Some torrential rain mixed in again. Expanding as it pushes north

Yes I was thinking that when I looked at the radar, it seems a lot further west, certainly compared to yesterdays forecasts, and its running early too.

How on earth did everyone get the timing of this rain so wrong at such short notice!

Quite a tricky last few days weather including today. Various associated fronts and Diffrent airmasses clashing.

We also have a shallow low that is responsible for this weather moving north up the east coast. These surface lows are immensely hard to forecast because of thier beauty to defy all the models and do something completely different.

Steady rain for an hour here now, looks like our region is in for another soaking. No complaints apart from the timing of it and the allotment has perked up nicely!
