The showers look nice here near Norwich atm but I don't think they will intensify enough. That storm of over France.

If the BBC forecasts are anything to go by, anywhere in the south is in with a chance tonight. Wouldn't lose hope just yet.

Absolutely. Fingers crossed. There are more strikes popping up further West. Just a waiting game and eyes on the radars!

Looking at the radar,. splitting doesn't look right at the moment,.
Seems to be development on the west side, how far West that will develop is another question :)

Main action is a couple of hours away folks. No panic.

Would say an MCS is now forming over Brittany, the eastern portion looks to be propergating a tad east of NE so a line east of IOW looks good here. What's interesting is the western growth, if it splits this could head NNE towards Poole/Bmth. Personally I only see limited action west of Portland.

Wow, great looking storm over France. I've managed to sort it so I can chase so I am heading south. I am thinking somewhere near to London may be an idea, although it's quite a trek.

Dont think its  splitting, but im no expert, but its deff growing in size

Yep definitely. Look at the line of cells in the Cotentin Peninsula ahead of the main area of activity which has sprung up in the last 15 minutes.

Got the camera prepped and ready here, popped out earlier to recce a nearby suitable and safe photography spot with great views to the south and east. Should be able to get a few decent lightning pictures if luck is on my side.

What I've gathered is naturally that if a storm splits then the eastern side will come off strongest. From experience it's beginning to look like the MCS is losing a little intensity indicated by the strongest amount of sferics on the Eastern side.

The storms forming to the west are from what I've read are as a result of the outflow of the storm. This could bring opportunities to More Eastern SW/CS areas.

That webcam is brilliant - just saw loads hail bouncing off of it too. Can't see that being a problem for us as it becomes more elevated over the Channel
