Seen a few of these rush hour rain to snow events over the years around here. Temps and DPs look like they are heading the right way. Will the precipitation be intense enough to settle is the big question?

Could this actually for once be going in our favour?  Lucky 7s and stuff..

I hope so, we are not usually very lucky with getting thunderstorms here either!

I wonder if that's going to pull cold air down with it and generate some snow in my part of the region later?

Hi All,

Temps are dropping very slowly here in the Southend area from a high of 7.4 down at the moment to 6.1, and continuous rain since about 11:00am.  Still a way to go before we get close to snow like conditions...

Cheers

John Hammond live on BBC news channel.

"Quite certain the rain will turn to snow in the next couple of hours of areas north of London especially chilterns"

"Much more of a question mark now, for the areas in to the south of London and the London conervastional area in particular"

His words not mine :-(

We have a drop in temperature and, more importantly, a more substantial drop in dew point; 4.6C and 3.3C respectively!  Pressure 996 hPa.

In a zonal flow, I'd imagine it's off to Denmark, sadly.
