Well the mod thread is full of swipes due to imby posts, oh dear. Really is best to stick to regionals if it's snow where/when your after, as it becomes a competition of regions lol

I'm dying to go in and wind them up but I'll be banned again like before lol.

Yep  I tend to follow the mad thread searching for cold and snow then when predictions come within 72 hours it's this thread all the way.

100% agree, I'm the same.

According to the latest BBC/MetOffice, the only entry for snow for tomorrow here, albeit "heavy", is at 5pm.

Honestly, the precipitation predictions on all the models is pretty poor. Look at what's happening right now on the radar coming towards Bristol Channel / South West out of Ireland. Even the 18z just 5 hours ago didn't pick that up.

So any news tonight? Snow still coming? I would look but I'm out. :)

I find the mod thread strange. Some members constantly look deep into FI even when cold is on the doorstep. Even if the easterly does happen next week, you'll probably see February charts being posted.

Realistically you need the front to stall. This way the cold will be in place for longer

Anyone know where I can get bill board posters printed - want a sort of walk in poster print shop that does roughly 6ft x 8ft posters.

By hook or by crook I WILL be looking at a snowy landscape, even if it means getting pics of my garden in the snow, printed up and plastered over the French windows.

Yeah, exactly what I was thinking, the 00z will be different again though. I'm pretty disappointed at the 18z  :cray:

Estimated snow accumulations by tomorrow evening;

A modest dusting possible for the Cotswolds into Wiltshire & the moors of the SW.

Here's my prediction for Bristol. Rain will turn to snow at 16:00 and will continue until 18:00

Bristol streamer (yes this exact one in the picture below) will set up at 18:00 and continue until midnight.

We will have a dusting on cars, grass and other conducive surfaces and it will be a very icy Friday rush hour.

BOOM!!! :yahoo:

There is an increasing signal for snow flurries to follow the wintry mess down from the NNW tomorrow night.  This could provide many regions of the West Country with at least some falling flurries after a wet, rainy day for the mostpart.

Places like the Mendips & the SW moors might even get a covering if a streamer sets up perfectly.

Hit & miss though, as ever with showers.

18z Hirlam continuing the theme of its predecessor, giving some showery flurries, notably over the moors and towards the West Country tomorrow night;

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

    General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
