Absolutely no pity required, loving this gorgeous weather, summer at its best. 24C here at 9:30am, delightful. I feel much more sorry for you lot up North with cold and cloud, yuck.

Yes sorry to be leaving the land of proper beer, pies, fish&chips but not the horrible gloomy weather. Sad to report another mist shrouded day dawns and you guessed some rain in the air. A bit warmer though this morning. Will be joining you down south this weekend and maybe still see a bit of heat and sunshine while it still lasts !

Another rotten cloudy day here in the land of perpetual cloud and rain.

The Azores High ridging occasionally is of little benefit.

The south isn't gods own country? Hell? Weather wise or location? I wouldn't say it's hell. Bit warm maybe. One day I'll get to Sheffield. I hear the snooker tournament is a must

Mark, u need to move to Lerwick, place where there is no summer

252 it's not that i dislike summer, love a good summers day just dislike feeling uncomfortable, especially in work. I have a very hot humid job, cooling off is essential, walking out of a room of 40c plus into 30c is i can assure you disgusting. Hence my grumpy old man attitude!:)

No high horse here merely asking a question. Good to know about gods own county. I'll stick to the garden of England I think but sounds lovely.

It's 23C with very high humidity, and getting up to 27C later, so I'm not sure markyo is going to have much relief today!

Maybe the heat's getting to me :) I do like Yorkshire. Was up that way last year during storm Doris. Interesting times. I love Scotland and a lot of the 'north' too just the weather is a bit too depressing for me at times

Not that bad TBH currently a rather warm 29C, dew point 18C however not particularly unpleasant with a slight cooling easterly breeze so much for southern softies. :diablo:

Being able to enjoy heat is enviable imo. The thought of it is enough to make me feel sick.
