So will we be 'going again' towards the end of the week and into the weekend given the predicted drop in temperature and wintry weather that has been forecast?

Possibly more of a higher ground scenario this time around but nice to get a bit of seasonal weather before the start of winter proper regardless!

Not a bad PM shot for mid November with uppers around -4/5°C at times. That would suggest the snowline around 300m, high ground across the Yorkshire Dales/Pennines may see a covering by the end of week.

I think the GFS has blown a fuse. IF it is current this Saturday could be interesting as could be the week after.

ECm doesn't want to know so two out of three show a possibility fingers crossed. Snow twice in November. That's fairly rare these days.

I'm back in Leeds this weekend so something to keep an eye on.

If you inland around 200m+ you could well see something decent out of this. But atm its more of a tops of the hills type snowfall.

hopefully we'll see something but no mention of snow on sunday even though it looks like a chance on the models. The Met office website doesnt have a single snowflake symbol for me at any point from now until the end of the 5 day forecast, booo!

Maybe the Sheffield snow curse from last year is back again

Wintry showers later on Thursday and overnight into Friday will lead to some ice, primarily on untreated surfaces but perhaps also where grit is washed off by frequent showers. Additionally, 1-3 cm of snow may accumulate on hills above around 100-200 m and more than 6 cm above 400 m. Some of the heaviest showers could produce slushy conditions even at low levels.

Great minds....I'm going there for a few days before Christmas. I've asked Santa for lots of snow and a good showing of the Northern Lights whilst we're there. Not too much to ask, is it? Haven't been for a couple of years, the last time was day after Boxing Day 2015, there was snow then too :-)

The track for Sundays low is perfect for Yorkshire if we want any snowfall, snow confined to the northern edge of the band mind but if you happen to sit on the northern edge and be on high ground you could be in look as it travels north east. I'm in Leeds on that day so definitely something to keep an eye on.

There's some great ones in the bar too - snow up and over the first floor windows. They haven't managed that today, but not a bad snow day for November - pic taken this afternoon.

Enjoy. I miss living in North Yorkshire, although I guess if there's anywhere to live in Somerset with half a chance of snow, it's up here in the Mendip Hills.

Local forecast has sleet then rain I ain't convinced and going for heavy snow instead. Okay not all factors there what are needed in John Holmes will snow but most of them.  The track needs to be watched though.

A pretty decent snow signal for high ground on the GFS inland for Sunday.

Bearing in mind that's for LBA, down here at lower levels BBC and the Met show mostly rain, turning to snow briefly tomorrow morning.

That being said, they said the same on the 9th and we ended up with 5cm, so.. take their forecasts with a pinch of salt when it comes to snow.

Need A little shift south for us. On the 9th they send quite a few centimeters for us in the end zilch away from the highest ground.

GFS suggesting snow to rain here while the BBC website was showing sleet and 1C so pretty marginal stuff.

Track looks good on the 6z with regards to the precipitation vs uppers balance however the low gains lattitude overnight pushing snow back to the Pennines.
