Any decent webcams over on the east coast where us landlubbers can see the first flakes arriving?

https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/road-cameras-and-weather-conditions

Scroll down and Blue Bank is near Whitby and Reighton is near Flamborough, not webcams but still photos update every 5 mins.

Air frost already no sign of cloud yet so should get really cold. Hopefully the cloud won't roll in for a while.

Much more in line with the Met Office forecast for my area. No idea why BBC think this = no snow. Still, we shall see!

I think next week and the week after where likely to see snow showers.

According to the 12z GFS I will post the models later.

Looking further afield on the radar there are now showers within around 50 miles of UK. Nothing off the Yorkshire coast currently but hopefully should start in the overnight period.

Been to Cleethorpes today and looking out to sea I can confirm that there was nothing but blue sky. :D

Yeah I live in Goathland for a while now.

Up here we need accurate weather forecasts 534ft asl.

On a serious note I cannot trust a BBC forecast. I come on here for you good guys and  gals.

We were up in Goathland a few weeks ago at the beginning of Feb whilst staying in Hutton Le Hole for a week.  We saw snow every day and most in Goathland (3-4 inches) on the Wednesday.  Lovely village, you are very lucky to live in such a lovely location! ?

From the satellite at 4.30 before if started to get dark, there is a lot of cloud approaching from the North sea. I'm not sure if radars cover central North sea precipitation? Could there be anything interesting later this evening?

Yes, they have heavy snow for a time Tuesday, and also Wednesday.

It's lovely in winter and lovely in summer

The winter weather can turn horrendous in a matter of hours up here.

I have a subaru legacy AWD for winter.

That at the moment is just cloud with a rouge cluster of showers on the east coast of Scotland none up till 6pm had reached mainland.

No showers 80 miles of the north east coastline as yet .but activitiey will be showing around 10:45pm

Around 35 miles in the north Sea by then .

Sorry for the predictive text I'm using my smartphone. As my  broadband has stopped working.

Also, that cloud in the North Sea is just the crud that's been moving inland every evening recently, only to clear back to the coast during the day. Rather typical of easterly winds.

I was thinking more of the better defined whitish cloud further out to sea... do radars go that far out?
