26.6mm and still tipping it down!

I won't beat my record 34.2mm for the day (on this station) as the rain started too late in the day, but I might get a 24 hour record at this rate.

I've missed the sound of the rain beating against the window. Wind really starting to pick up. Autumn finally arrived

Why is it I get a sinking feeling looking at model thread and that our best chance of winter proper is slipping through our fingers before it has even started :cc_confused:

Not got a clue if it is raining outside or not I can't be bothered to look

Now the rain has abated, the winds are finally beginning to pick up a bit. 38mph recorded on my wee Davis.

29.4mm was the total in a 12 hour period. Not too shabby!

So hopefully we shall have a better idea of mondays chances of snow after this storm has been resolved..?

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday (on bbc)

Further wet and windy weather on Monday, possibly turning to snow, mainly over the hills. Sunny spells and showers for Tuesday. Drier and brighter on Wednesday. Cold with overnight frosts.

I think you'll be lucky NK, looks way to marginal in sw even with elevation

I'm rooting for you though

My blinking gas meter door keeps slamming open and shut. I can't be bothered to go outside, so hoping for a strong gust to take it off it's hinges

I never take much stock in storm warnings after witnessing the great storm when i lived in south east they all seem a little feeble. I remember the fasination as a child going outside and having half a roof and 3 trees down in our garden alone. My dad played a game with me on the evening it hit called count the panes of glass you can hear smash I loved it lol

Yes that was a monster storm

lots of trees still in full leaf so I expect some to fall with those gusts

Pressure at 975.58 hPa currently, 973.79 hPa to beat.

A buoy in the channel is showing 967 at the moment. Angus' center looks to track right over, or near to Dorset.

Yes i expect at least one on commute to be down. Lived next to a beech forest called castlefield and we played in the upturned trees for years it felled 90% of that woodland all large beech trees.
