I've been totally oblivious to the weather today I've been so busy but as I left work I was surprised how chilly it was and saw lightning too... first thought it was something to do with carnival then I realised it couldn't be.. if I wasn't so busy st work maybe I could appreciate this weather more!

Virtually no rain here at all, just a glancing blow from a couple of showers.  Very windy and now considerably cooler.

Just had an amazing hail storm with thunder and lightning , it's white outside and I'm glad I got up to look out the window as I saw fork lightning right outside the bloody window, i  mean there  was  no gap between the flash and the booming thunder  absolutely awesome!

Wow what a storm Smartie, truly epic. Hail was biblical, still white outside now.

Best thunderstorm for a very long time, crazy  it came in late Autumn though.

Good start to the Winter.

Totally unpleasant morning with Cbs a plenty, frequent moderate showers of rain, hail, etc in a strong westerly gusting 45mph and a temperature of 6C. Book out and feet up.

Oh and a good example of a wintry unstable sounding with the tropopause down to 350mb

I'm only 25m above sea level but it was definitely sleeting recently. The temp dropped to 2.7C.

The Blackdown Hills appear to have a covering of snow, this at about 260m! http://www.dsgc.co.uk/what-is-happening-now/webcam

Any snow on the Mendips? Didn't have time to drive to the right place and take a look this morning.

I'll be honest i got drunk last night and only just awoke :D

Looks like a shower is just about to clip me though so ill let you know..

Shower is going to only just clip mendip fringes so not sure i'll have intensity to bring wbfl down but perhaps someone in shaft bury area might get lucky..

Sleet falling here at the moment, but again, not many showers have come through today.

Yep we had a similar wintry day this time last year before it all descended into a stupidly mild December. Looking like a colder December is in the offering this year (wouldn't take much!!!)
