Snowing quite a bit now.

Up over towards trehebert from hirwaun it gets up to around 450-500m and snow is pretty thick and settling all over roads. 

Wind has really got up now between Hirwaun and Merthyr with heavy blowing snow settling too. 

Temperature around 0c here now at around 900-1000'

1.9C Dew point. Temp really starting to fall now.

Blorenege is obscured now with snow. Still light rain down in town.

Cold rain still in Cardiff. Around 3.9c. Temps dropping, hopefully it drops enough before the band leaves to see some falling snow at least .

NEXT WEEK IS LOOKING AWESOME - THIS IS ONLY THE APERITIFE - prawn cocktail if you like - much worse potentially to come - beasterly surprise - with huge amounts of snow if we get the usual atlantic push against the cold air

Definite shift from wintry rain () to sleet in the last five minutes or so in Bassaleg, Newport. Gives me hope that any showers should be just about snow over night- if any actually get this far SE! Those in the valleys, west, mid and north Wales- enjoy your coverings! Think you'll be in for a good night!!

As i type there's a small flurry of snow starting

Wind is now picking up at last and also fallen leaves that are still on the ground are being swept up and blown around ' as for the rain that has now stopped and seems to be the end of that band .

Oh well always next week .

Small flakes of wet snow here beginning to die out ...quite chilly in the breeze though!

Snow hammering down on the Bwlch between abergwynfi and Treorchy. Snow then continued down the valley u till I got to Cimla in neath which is about 150 meetres asl. Sleet from there downwards. Temp at 2.0c  in briton ferry
