Snizzle coming down fast now, finally enough to start to accumulate on all surfaces. Temp is -3.3 C

On the teaspoon scale I believe I may have enough for a few mouthfuls. :)

I can't wait for it to turn from these fine flakes to proper snowflakes so we can get a covering, doesn't feel right seeing some much bare ground and greenery still haha excited for later and tonight for sure!

I've got lovely thick snow in my front garden, a huge bald patch out the back garden and no snow on the trampoline but plenty under it.

The snow is so dry and blowing everywhere.

Well models were wrong with that dry patch here

Not necessarily, the main band of snow hasn't developed yet (that's due to develop in the Channel in one or two hours - then we'll see if we're in the dry ('"less snow"). zone). :)

Same down the Road - it hasn't stopped but its been pretty fine stuff - nearly an hour in to the red zone warning and still small flakes - will they get bigger or is this it?

Remember that the 3PM start was for the whole of the red zone including SW England. Emma's coming in from the south so they'll get hit first and we'll get it later. Hopefully we'll keep it later as well!

Yes nice surprise...

Been watching the radar. Some nice green pixels over Swansea heading toward me in Llanelli... but every time the radar refreshes the intensity drops before it gets to me ahahaha! I can't complain though everything is turning white and the wind is blowing it around like crazy

powdery alpine snow - makes for fab pistes in the alps - slippy slidey - not the wet muck we normally have

If you're feeling blue, just have a look at the radar, there's hours of it out there, it varies in intensity. But it's coming. No need to panic. It's exactly as predicted, hours of light snow leading up to the main event.

We've had pretty much non stop snow since before 7am this morning - I'm wondering how different the main even is going to be to be honest

The black holes of nothingness are slowly filling in on the radar. Hoping for a least a bit of snow to replace what was whipped away by a fleeting snow devil earlier.

Well, it's going to be more intense precipitation with more wind. Visibility will take a big knock.
