As mentioned the euro4 models look superb for Thursday into friday.

Hegzyy, you forgot to include the 36hr chart for us in the West!

As I said in the model thread, I'll have Hirlam and Euro4 worn out over the next 48 hours! Then it's radar watch and lamppost alert!

Contain yourselves for another 24hrs (maybe even 20hrs) then keep an eye on the radar, but most importantly.......the nearest lamppost.

Potential is there for a few inches from tomorrow afternoon right through to early Saturday in places but the forecasts switching about show how hard it is to predict right down to 0hrs

I’m strangely looking forward to the 18z pub run this evening, hoping Sunday slider is slightly more north than 12z and straight over the roof of the house

Come on guys, keep the faith! Those automated forecast apps are rubbish in their reliability. Check out this evening's BBC NI weather forecast and the met office below. There'll be very little marginality around on Friday. The strength of the wind appears to send showers right across the country too so vast majority should see something white. Getting excited about potential accumulations in the NW though :yahoo:

Edit: in fact it looks like we could see snow in the forecast as early as tomorrow afternoon. Im travelling from Manorhamilton in Leitrim back to Tyrone at 4pm. Could be a fun drive!

What's the thoughts on Sunday's slider? The 18z sends it further north potentially giving us a snow to rain event (heavy snow at 7am but rain at 1pm). It's a tricky one as we don't want it pushing through and catching the mild cone. Hopefully, it comes in and pivots moving SE thereby keeping us on the cold side at all times.

Have to say it's absolutely fabulous model watching at the min.

No that sure Sperrin. I think it will be a little South of where the 18z has it. Rain at low levels for sure I would say, but would say a better chance of snow on the hills
