I think we are good to go just need runs to hold the 850s to we get nearer the event and no modifying them anybody remember 29th Jan 2015 5 inches snow here at low levels quite similar event to whats been shown on mods.

I don't see any of the weather forecast sites going for anything other than some wintry showers for some next week. Why would this be?

Because that's exactly what we'll be getting, wintry showers.

At 4/5 days away it's impossible to say where the wintry precipitation will fall and whether it will be rain, sleet or snow.

Holy stained glass windows!

Check out the gfs ens for Omagh next week. I'm loving those snow row percentages (I live 100m higher than Omagh too!)

i have to say there is fantastic agreement amongst the ens right up to the 20th.

Hopefully we all hit the jackpot at some stage next week!

Go to...

www.meteoceil.fr

then find the location box on the column down the left hand side and stick in your location. Someone must have requested Omagh from the guy who runs it because it's available as a location. However, Belfast isn't! You may have to search around local towns to see if any are stored on their site. Alternatively I think you can use your longitude and latitude coordinates, however, I wouldn't have a clue how to get them!

you then click on the link that says diagrammes gfs Ens and you're sorted!

Another 24 hours to go by before I get too excited over snow prospects next week. Yes GFS looks fantastic for 72 hour snow chance period but the ECM is not as good so I want to see another couple of runs from it.

Wheres the level of excitement at now MS? :D

He’s be rightfully cautious as it’s very marginal indeed. This is far from a done deal for low lying areas. A long way to go yet before where snow will fall and how much I’m afraid.

6 out of 10 at the moment Weegaz.

Snow over high ground is now certain next week between Monday and Friday, however for lower levels we need to wait and see.

- Dew points look good

- Thicknesses look very good

- It's the 850s which remain the issue.

And it goes without saying that the like of Donegal, Sligo, Derry, North Antrim, Fermanagh and Tyrone are likely to be best candidates.
