If any precipitation that occurs doesn't fall as snow I would be baffled. Snow flakes were falling with above 0C uppers that last Thursday in January. Members were reporting sleet at sea level on Monday when the uppers and dew points looked unfavourable and there was wet snow last November with unspectacular uppers.

Easterly winds starting to kick in now.  Albeit only suggestively at the moment. I hope we get something more pronounced than a few passing flurries sat into Sunday but I won't be putting any money on it.  A drive up into the north York Moors could be interesting though.  Then to be honest with you I'm ready for spring, however foolishly optimistic that may be at this time of year.

Raining in Whaley Bridge, but just been past Waterswallows near to Buxton and had the lightest of snow-flurries passing by. Easterly has now set in here.

Another shower. This time sleety

Yes the showers should be turning more and more wintry anything that falls out of the sky should be white ..trouble is the precip situation looks bleak, none of the high res models expect these weak showers to make it past the hills.

Agreed, the radar shows them just dying as they reach the eastern edge of the Pennines.

hopefully that will change over the coming day or so as the winds pick up but at the moment they seem to prefer Yorkshire.

As easterlies go this one is pretty much as lame as i have seen, that said its rare the snow showers dont reach my house, im just over 11 miles from Holmfirth, the only time im screwed is when winds aee SE then the peaks gobble all the snow!

Meto apps and high res mods are pretty dreadful for this side of the pennines, so they maywell be correct.

We' ll see...

yes, feeble E'ly, nothing like the easterlies of old, dew points could be even too high meaning rain/sleet low levels Saturday, that would never happen 80's

Just now, I Cumbria Marra I said:

We miss out on snow no matter which direction it comes at us we are cursed I tell you cursed.

on a lighter note PPN charts next to useless.all of then.

FWIW I think the old M6 eastwards will be the dividing line in the next few days.

Well it's 3c here and does not feel that cold. Can not see anything snow wise in the next few days, those snow charts the GFS show are  embarrassing,METO have not even mentioned Saturday although the presenter for the regional forecast on Breakfast this morning mentioned Saturday will be milder with temperature back upto 5c

Manchester airport TAF going for light rain or snow showers later

that about says it all for me.
