Good consistently from the UKMO and GFS in a weeks time the GFS has snow flurries

For Eastern counties a front aproaches from the west turning readily to snow but not making much progress as it hits the huge block.

C.S.

Yes decent consistency from the UKMO in particular. Liking both out to 144 & if the GFS is anything to go by in it's latter stages then you would expect the UKMO to show something exciting too.

Over to the ECM to ruin I mean show an improvement :unknw:

ECM just run... Looking good, infact miles better than this morn! :good:

Just a normal Feb then really, for the millennium, Feb, the month that's changed the most, used to be guaranteed snow in Feb!

How much snow did you see during February 1997?

Infact, 4 of the Februarys of the 1990s were 6.5C and above for CET.

Ignore above can't delete it for some reason..

Hoping February will deliver our first morning with snow cover. Last winter we managed just one such day on the 17 Jan, winter 14/15 a handful of mornings with a cm or two cover, winter 13/14 not one morning - oh dear.. it would be very dissapointing to have yet another winter with so few snow days.

Next week colder.... snow maybe.... if anything white hills, frost and sunshine.... my favourite if we dont have snow up here...

after an extra three weeks of pain with peeps im buying off of....been waiting to move for ten months....im getting keys to new house in three weeks.... and two brand new rentals just north of here in six weeks.... as well as my home renting in three weeks.... the end of winter would be nicely polished off with a bit more prolonged snow...

Has anyone noticed that when a southerly tracking low crosses  it's always described as a washout day where as a low crossing to the north never is  because the south escape the worst?  just annoys me.  I like southerly tracking lows, we get to laugh at the southerners like last May/June when they had a rubbish early summer and we had a great one.   We have to have our fun when we can lol.

Proper love a good foehn wind. Proper mild here today, 12C, I see Rhyl is leading the way already with a 14C'er. Could almost be described as warm!

Yes quite a mild feel today, and with the winds originating from the south/south west, any showers have quite a bit of land to travel over before hitting our parts.  Thankfully it's been a dry day.

Given also the dryness of recent weeks, do you really think their will be flood warning by this time next week?

So much for the flooding predictions. If anything rainfall seems to be downgrading all the time.

Radford Bank is flooded, seem to have had a lot of rain here, with more on the way, but always do

Precisely CS,

We won't benefit from it at all, best place to be will be eastern England, any wintry precipitation will break up and disintegrate once it hits the pennies.

Western England is horrendous for snow.

Some of the posters in there leave a lot to be desired. I cannot say what I'd really like to say as it'd get me banned but if the perpetual hopecasting wasn't bad enough, the terrible grammar (as you point out) is enough to send the more seasoned over the edge!
