Just light rain here, although the heaviest precipitation is still out west.  It's felt cold enough today for snow, but I think it will be a slushy mix at best through the night.  Higher places to my east might fare better.

Moderate wet snow here now, settling on grassy surfaces, car roofs etc, but roads/hard surfaces too wet. If it peps up a bit more it should start to stick everywhere. Higher roads such as Kirkstone Pass likely to be very dicey now.

Precip really seems to be picking up to my west but up to now the pennines seem to be acting as a bit of a buffer.

Would like to see temps start dropping sharpish...

Looks like the front is slightly further east than perhaps forecast, the back edge is still quite a bit out over sea but its something to keep an eye on as its edging closer to this region.

That said, I would expect it will start to stall soon as it has over Scotland, the question will be is the air really cold enough for it to turn to snow, I'm really not sure as uppers are not expected to get any lower so it will probably be down to lower level cold and maybe if some of that filter down from the Pennines then maybe it will in some areas.

Great news about the updated TAF at Manchester Airport.

I have drove home from Crewe to Halmer End (170m). When I left Crewe there was the odd hint of sleet and just got in and it's more sleet. It is is snowing in other areas at 120m then it leads me in good scope here.

The traffic cams seem to be showing up decent snowfall at the tops of the hills, below the snowline so far though. Not complaining as it's what was expected.

Do you know where the A591 image is taken from? We are just on the snowline here, we've had moderate very wet snow for about 3 hours, and a very slushy deposit on grass and car roofs etc.

Living towards the lower Goyt Valley i'm in the fortunate position of being able to see the highest hills of both Derbyshire and Cheshire just by looking out from the window, surrounded by +1200ft peaks helps aswell from Sponds Moor, Chinley Churn, Eccles Pike, and Brown Knoll which will undoubtedly be covered in snow themselves too.

Yep pushed east at a fair rate. Hard to see how there will be any precipitation left here by 6am.

The back edge of the band is approaching Liverpool and I got to say i'm surprised and kind of goes against what the models predicted. Still expect the band to pivot/stall somewhat but just as things perhaps could get interesting for some, it becomes a bit borderline whether anything will fall out of the sky nevermind whether its rain or snow!
