I am feeling a little underwhelmed about this upcoming cold spell. Forecasts I have see don't seem to suggest anything significant, snow wise, for most parts of the Midlands. Knowing our luck if we do get PPN there will be a warm sector to ruin it anyway. Sorry to sound downbeat but there have been far too many let downs in recent years. A slight dusting is the best I think most of us will get that will probably melt in an hour!

yes, like this one

Peak District looking cold and wintry over the next five days.... yippee....

That's not surprising. Even in the last 3 Winters you've not done too badly. If I lived where you live and especially at your elevation I would also be very excited. Fair play to you though.

Showers, light, heavy or more organised bands....at this stage ??? will know more tomorrow for sure

Yesterday the METO had an incoming channel low for Thursday with PPN along the south coast and 24hrs later it's almost at the doors of Birmingham...Forecasters nightmare.

A little further north with more cold mix in....Who knows :cold::)

Always interesting when the Met office charts/meteogram shows one set of conditions, but the written text forecast describes a different scenario.  I would guess one a pure computer generated set of data, whilst the written text is a forecasters interpretation.

Not confident for tomorrow midday event, but there's not a chance Thursday night's event (should we get it) will fall as rain.

Just read this on the BBC West Midlands online forecast,

"Snow showers on Friday, most frequent along the coast."

Well if it's snow you're after, best head down to one of the West Midland's many beaches then!
