How frequent is the lightning where people have it? The detectors seem to have decreased quite a bit in terms of lightning frequency.

...just hit 20°C for the dew point. The temperature is only 22.1°C
The sky has mainly filled in,  but definitely convection taking place.

Sun is back out here but actually feels rather fresh outside. Activity seems to be dwindling for now?

lightning and distant thunder now . Just watching a vintage 1930s large biplane fly over heading towards the storm , wings tipping from side to side .... good luck to them , not the best thing to experience in a modern plane let alone an old biplane !!

I think they call it a beavers tail, in the states. In flow, must be a strong storm.

Gutted, the whole live Telford-Shrewsbury died right on us.

Now a couple more strikes over Witchurch so it will probs start to kick off again... can see the strikes to my North though...

Hi there! Are you able to chase that storm moving into Cornwall soon? Seems to have maintained intensity on the radar for hours now! Could be a good storm..

Seems to be more strikes up to Chester, but lacking in those really intense echoes near Blackpool!

It has gone totally overcast here, temp has dropped to 18.5c since brief heavy rain, humidity up to 86%. Doesn't feel like a thundery type of day

Very distant thunder, from 11 miles away.

Todays grand total of 2 claps of distant thunder , 1 flash of lightning .

I think that just about sums up this year so far .

As per usual for this year the storm outbreaks are in Dorset east to the Portsmouth/Southampton area.

So near yet so far.

What a shock, the systems dies over Telford/Shrewsbury, then it decides to come back to life after it has passed!

I wouldn't worry the storms are nothing special as of yet, once we start seeing 100+ strikes/min then I will be interested. Northwest england/west yorkshire/ south west scotland look prime areas for later.
