Great pics folks thanks for posting!  Exciting times ahead.  Just seen the metoffice vid and looks like some intense rainfall / storms developing more widely as the day goes on and and the north get's in on the action early hours of tomorrow morning - up to now at least.  Love days like this even if I don't get a storm this forum is a buzz for weather freaks like me (and many others)

Hot humid and still, has been clear but there does look to be some instability in the sky now. What would anyone recon on the chance for these storms to head/develop towards south east midlands/Northamptonshire?

These cells are developing very rapidly

They are indeed. Slow moving, too. That cell over NW London is backbuilding eastwards so some very large rainfall totals are to be expected with flash flooding a real risk.

I would hazard a guess these showers/storms are firing along a modelled convergence zone laying roughly along the A303 corridor fro dorset to Herts

Nothing but cloud and wind here now. Looks like rain on the way. I don't think it will electrify, we'll see.
