Exactly Andy. I've been even closer to the action down here and while I've heard plenty of thunder, hardly any rain has fallen.

This lot is currently over Alderbury way on the A36 and we're in Sunshine.

Great sky! Having reviewed the radar from the whole afternoon every cell that has approached Salisbury Plain from the NNW has dissipated while those further W have maintained or increased in intensity. Then once the associated clouds with dissipated cells exit the Palin they have been reinvigorating further S.

Another day with a slow moving storm just to the west of town (three days in a row) thunder rumbling away and it's still building.

Been a a great summer so far for storms around hear. One over head cracker the best for years and about 5/6 other cells and storms within 5 miles to  chase.

Tops any of the last 5 (mabey more) years where we had nothing.

More please

No one in the Euro storms thread so I'll post here - forgiven I hope.

There is a storm here black building towards me from the east. Just had a CG  at 2 miles. Everything else has been beyond three so far.

Interesting scud activities to our West again today......no rotation noticed yet

Yep, can see that too.  Always interesting watching the movement of these lowerings.  Tuesday evening was really good.  Was watching rapid spin and rising motion at the cloud base from a small shower, and you could see it was close to organising into funnel, but it just couldn't quite get there.

Amazing sky in Milton Keynes. Thunder died off for 10 mins or so as the core rained out and lost inflow. Now cycling and building a new core and in the last five mins it's started throwing out lightning once more. :)

Still keep hearing faint rumbles here, still quite a bit of rain around, not so much lightning though.

Quite possibly the heaviest rain I have ever seen here and certainly he most prolonged at such an intensity. Amazing.

It's a dry and sunny afternoon here. There seems to be a void of showers over here, although big towers are building to my NE and showers are actually moving today (albeit slowly).
