Despite our proximity to the Wales-Norfolk CZ, there's absolutely nothing around here. In fact the earlier quite vigorous convection appears to have flattened out and turned into a widespread sort-of greyness; and, much like yesterday, even the sunny intervals have disappeared???:cc_confused:

Looking at the charts, my shower chance comes later this afternoon, just 1mm will do! It's blowing a hoolie down here today, as well.

I love how once again the general media are in denial that we get tornados in the uk with the headline "twister" in speechmarks and the cringeworthy "mini tornado" mentioned, even though the evidence is right there on their own bleedin' website.

Same for here too, though everything seems to be already kicking off east of here.

Torrential downpour to my SE, I'd expect an imminent sferic from that.

Another heavy shower here that came out of nowhere. That seems all we're gonna get all day. Heavy showers between the sunshine every half an hour or so.

M5 is partially blocked between J1 and J2, down to 1 lane due to flooding in lanes 1 and 2.

Instagram is awash (get it...) with short clips of the storms over Birmingham at the moment. Looks like real tropical-style rain!

Convection kicking off here now with several rain shafts in the vicinity, I've no idea whether to stay or go...

Seems like everything wants to avoid here...

Awesome. On foot is the best way to experience it imo as you are out in the open and can feel more a part of whats going on around you and soak up the atmosphere. You can also hear the thunder a lot more. Just watch out for lightning and hail and be careful.

Where abouts are you referring to William? The only sea bound storm I can see is the one at clacton at sea that originally developed over land and drifted there before it died?

ESE of here, not an actual thunderstorm just a torrential downpour.

Already seen 4 clear bolts, about 10 flashes and a lot of thunder, gust front is passing overhead  now and rain getting heavier :)

Brave hehe.  Had I walked just a little way down the road here I might have been taken out by that bolt earlier.  Mind you, bit dicey in a high rise lol.
