Looking on blitzortung.org there seems to be small storm around the Shrewsbury area, what's the chance of this drifting a bit further north?

It just feels too cool for any storm activity in Gresford (NE Wales) now, although the sun is out nicely thank you very much.

http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ check this and see what the wind direction is, radars and Blitz dont necessarily give the best direction.

head towards crew green its thundering here, the cell grew right over us in 10mins. still thundering now, chucking it down now

I'm over in Montford bridge, just making a call of which cell to head into (yours or the larger one over Llandrindod) or stay put and watch from a distance from the top of a hill. Interesting developments last 30 minutes round this way.

Shower is right on my doorstep. Really struggling to feel thundery here, 19c and the wind is really cool.

looks like the shower is more formed on the northern edge with Sferics near Preston.

Well based on that, I'm not seeing anything this evening :-(

Depends. If I'm already fast asleep there's a chance I'll sleep through it.

I think what really keeps me awake is the anticipation...my love for weather! So it would be the first answer.

I'm the same when snow is due...don't want to sleep because I don't want to miss it!

I get what you mean. With me I find if the storm is already here and I've seen some of it before I go to sleep then the sound of it helps me drift off. However if one arrives while I'm drifting off or I get woken in the night by a storm I have to get up and watch, but then I'm tired the next day!

Might have to look to the south east for my next chance of t-storms.  This batch which at first felt like it was closing in on both sides, appears to be shifting northwards.

I think your best chance of a storm is if it forms directly over you!

Quite a few storms heading roughly this way from the south. I think the maidstone cell will either just skim here with possibly one or two faint rumbles but if it lasts, the eastbourne cell looks to be on course. Theres the cell to the west of brighton too but I think that will skirt around here. Looking further afield, I wonder if anything fron north east france might make it over? Its still pretty warm here and purely going on instinct it feels like theres still some energy about.

EDIT - Scrap that, anything from france is going in the other direction - so used to having european storms coming towards us lately I forgot to check what direction they were headed!

Bit unfair we had all the heat for the past few days and no storms. It is dark looking here but no cells around at all :-(
