Warm night! Currently 17.5°C with a minimum overnight of 16.2°C... Should get into the mid 20's once again today with clear skies and an offshore breeze. Reached 25°C yesterday so pretty good going for up here near the coast.

Spoke too soon.. the sun has gone very hazy. The cloud in the south may be further north than expected.. maybe this will suppress temperatures across the south of the region.. we will see.

Oops the sun has completely gone here now.. an overcast sky to the south. Looks like around 20 ish will be the maximum today but that's not bad

 Wall-to-wall sunshine here, much more sun than yesterday. 21.8°C. 

Min  overnight 14.8°C, max  yesterday 25.8°C.

Surprisingly the sun came out again not long after. As a result due to lots of sun and a light-ish breeze, it has reached 23.4C so far. It's not midday just yet so potentially 4-5 more hours of heating so potentially 2-3C more to add on

 I'm behind  you today. 22.7°C here. I think today may end up a little warmer than yesterday at this rate. Max was at 17:00 yesterday. Temp  rising very quickly.

Very warm now...23.7°C and not a cloud to be seen, may even exceed yesterdays high of 25.1°C...

Temp not  rising as quickly as I thought it would. Still only 23.7°C. Can't have anything to do with Mercury can it?

 Spoke too soon. Just hit 25°C. It took  until 1 July last year to get 2  days which exceeded 25°C,  and there have been many summers recently where 25°C has not been reached on any occasion, let alone the second week of May which isn't even summer!

It's lovely out, but so windy! It makes it hard to observe the transit of Mercury, both my binoculars and the bit of paper I was trying to project the sun onto were shaking and flapping like mad. Still, I made out a wee dot.

Conditions as of 8:00pm BST:

Overnight min: 11.8C, max 29.6C (sheltered, S. facing), current 21.5C.  Liverpool ATIS reporting 20C dp 11C @ 18:50Z.  Dry, no precipitation during the past 24hrs.  Quite breezy earlier, F3-4 but now light breeze F2.  Significant high cloud but sun visible, coverage 6/8.  Today has been as hot as I could desire, sadly it isn't going to last.

Managed to just beat yesterdays high with a temp at home of 25.6°C at around 15:30, went to Cockermouth and the car was showing 26.5°C... Sunny skies all day.

Same here. 5°C warmer than forecast for this time.

 

 Very sunny although it isn't supposed to be.
