I think some of those unofficial ones may be more correct. I live in the back edge of Brighton and a local swaith suffered a lot of large tree loss. And the winds were slamming in around 6-7am. So add the unofficial Shoreham and Lewes ones near me and you may have a clearer picture of local gusts. Now just got to wait for council to put up scaffolding and fix my roof ridge tiles before my loft gets soaked!

33.6mm overnight in the manual gauge here, though 41.4mm including the heavy showers yesterday (or 46.4mm with another 5mm from showers today)

The river reached the highest levels since 2012, quite a lot of debris/silt and flooding on the roads this morning.
