Just had a shower here, convective drops but not thundery.

Well a lot of cloud but a few sunny spells from time to time. It has stayed dry all day so far with a high of 19C.

The dryness doesn't look like lasting for much longer though, the models do show some weak cape over Kent suggesting the potential for thundery downpours. Tomorrow looks decent, especially in more western parts of the region though there is a risk of some heavy showers.

dull, windy and at times wet here, far cry from the last few days in East Norfolk when it was mainly sunny it a tad breezy with rain over night (apart from I think wednesday).

Aren't the storms more for kent tonight?

If they are lucky. As is the norm since the turn of the century, decent storms avoid us like the plague!

Off to Dungeness in a bit .... that storm coming up from the south looks worthy of a drive

That first storm cell went west of me in the end, after much umming and arrring as to whether I should go sit on the beach! Canterbury caught it fairly well. I think I might still go down to the sea as the rest seems to be going off to the east and up the channel.

Yes. The trail of strikes on the Real-Time lightening website shows the direction of travel. Clipping the far SE and then up the North Sea.

Missed the main event here in Dover :( Canterbury just had a small blip on the edge.

Think this event is mostly going to be out to sea

Just got back from a drive from Hastings to Dungeness following the storms out to sea. Some great cloudscapes this evening, a lot of lightning seen too!
Have posted a few pictures in the storm thread, feel free to take a look. :)

Yep it is, but while it was here, and east of here I was in Canterbury, missed most of it. Was still flashing a bit when I got home though I suppose.

Decent start to the day here, sunny spells. We might get a few showers later in the day.

The bank holiday weekend is looking frustrating, so close to a set up which could bring some very warm and sunny weather but at the moment low pressure just seems to want to move into central Europe and deliver a rather drab and cool weekend with north easterly winds. Just stall west or over Iberia and give us some hot east/south easterlies.

*cough* *cough*

*sniff*

I have some washing out, nothing important just the stuffs i wear round the house to  do the housework in, so been looking at the radar *just in case *

*cough*

Rather nice out, that sun is bordering on 'hot' although as normal the bedford breeze is the wrong side of cool. Does Look a bit rainy, but not 100% sure if it's going to rain or not *cough*

Cosy on sofa, box of tissues, doctor who on telly, oven on for roast chicken dinner. Only a thunderstorm would get me outside for the washing anyway. *sniff*

Hmm unless something dramatic happens then I think today may go bust.. Next chance, tomorrow

It seems the showers get potent then die out and reapet with only very limited thunder although some cells have fired

Had a few long showers here but they are light and defo won't fire anywhere. Don't know if anything interesting will make it's way here.
