IMBY whats concerning me is the Euro4 is picking up a rain shadow so ppn won't be heavy enough for evap cooling which is crucial for low levels tonight, like what happened in march 2013 where i was left with jack yet 15 miles south cars were buried at sea level.

Euro4 is pants for 99% of us, already thrown the towel in, mind you a towel might come in handy later, im on nights so i'll peer out of the window later to confirm the rains wet :)

It's sleeting on the tops of Cumbria, rain is now approaching our shores.

Yorkshire Dales could get absolutely buried by the end of tomorrow going off the Euro4. Already looks like a downgrade for here though.

Well when people are saying they won't get anything, a cm would probably be pretty exciting, for a snowless winter. No pleasing some! :nonono::D

I already had a cm of snow... well hail yesterday!! :D

It wasn't 100% spot on the other day but it was correct in that it moved away from it's original idea of snow on low ground. In reality only areas above 300m got a covering as shown by the M62 motorway webcams.

WRF and Arpege models looking touch and go for lower ground. Away from high ground the dew point looks about 1 or 2C. Far too marginal for my liking, anything 1 or above and you can forget it. Could be huge differences over only 40 metres or so depending on your location.

MetOffice have the temp staying at 6c through to midnight, with quite a lot of rain. Then more rain tomorrow, 3c.

The beeb put me sleet symbol for midnight, then rain for few hours here. They also put rain before midnight and few sleet symbols by dawn. Other words they have no clue what is gonna do here. It is true that snow is pretty hard to forecast. I go for 50/50 for this event.  Hopefully it be a good side of the coin.

Just looking at my updated charts, big downgrade for the south west of the region (NO SHOCK THERE)!!!

All rain from about 8pm to 11pm then bone dry til about 8am then maybe some patchy sleet!

As you can see I'm over the moon with the letdown for the 10,000th time this winter!!!!

I expect Buxton to be quite a prime place for tonight.
