Unfortunately the devil is in the detail as usual and anything worthy of a mention is reserved for the Scottish Highlands and possibly the Lakeland Fells, North Pennines.

for the rest of us, myself included I feel that both altitude and latitude will be the spoiler so unless a slight covering of slush floats your boat then I'm very much in the zero chance camp.

Always happy to be proved wrong though and spend a couple of hours out in the morning with my occasional best mate, snow shovel.

edit.....snowing again here.

That must be the old warning, there is another one covering many more places including as far south as north wales

Its a bit further south but the coast is still out of the warning, and that's where a lot of people on here live.

I'd do anything for one flake let alone a slight covering of slush.

Have a drive up the East Lancs and keep heading for the Pennines and you'll probably see a few flakes falling but to see anything of note on the ground you'll need to drive to Scotland.....as is usually the case these days.

People living in Lancashire, Merseyside, Manchester and North Cheshire could be seeing some snow soon

Alternating between snow and graupel, giving a temporary covering.

Snowing here again now and the showers heading in look to have some intensity about them.

Ever tried introducing the word 'graupel' into polite, non weather-related conversation, James? The best reaction I've seen is a blank stare!:D

Typical, they split with one batch heading east about 5 miles to the north of me and the other further south over greater Manchester.

there's always next time I suppose.

Nothing since the brief graupel shower this morning! Looks epic over Scotland with some very snowy scenes on web/traffic cams...

Huge squall passing through - a real wintry mix - blue skies visible still.
