Very therapeutic to watch those white flakes fall to the ground so elegantly.

Accumulating on the shed roof & grassy surfaces.

Upped in intensity :)

Got a slight coating on my grass and wheelie bins but appears to be melting quite quickly.

Shame they didn't set their alarm clocks, it was always forecast around this time, not the earlier warm sector rain.

Unbelievably, despite how wet the surfaces are, it is now trying it's best to settle, so areas outside central London will surely get a covering.

Beginning to settle"even" upon damp pavement. .although of the slushy variety. ..grass verges/cars turning white...rapidly.

Astounded here.....can't believe it's settling almost everywhere except here. Just heavy enough to make everything wet. :D

I miss living in Biggin Hill :(

Well, Romford has light snow, but nowhere near enough intensity to settle properly.  Maybe a slight dusting on the roof, but just dampening everything else down.

From what I can tell on the precip type radar, it seems the sleety band has pushed NW as this load has come south.

Not impressed, but then I haven't had decent snow down here in all the time I've been here. :D

There is a patch of clearer air, with some further showers following on behind.

There's an intensification(pep up) to the north of London heading direct south...via radar!

Just as an aside... People need to be aware that the "weather type" feature, however good it is at certain times, is not necessarily always accurate... The entire time it has been snowing here in London, the precipitype radar has been saying sleet/rain over the entire capital, whereas it has been chucking it down with snow for an hour. Whereas when it was raining earlier, it said snow.

The best way of finding out what is actually falling will always be either from other people who can verify or possibly the old favourite of looking out the window. ;)
